When the Neutrogena Light Therapy Mask first came on the market I thought it was another “thing” to buy that would supposedly clear acne but would actually not clear acne at all…boy was I wrong. It wasn’t until I saw a handful of celebrities using more expensive light therapy masks that I realized that there must be something to this thing. I thought to myself how can you get clear Skin with the Neutrogena Light Therapy Mask?
I wanted to know how blue and red light helped clear acne so I did a little research. Apparently blue light kills the bacteria that causes acne and the red light reduces inflammation. This information amazed me! I had no idea that certain color rays of light were beneficial for skin at all. After learning this I ran out and bought the Neutrogena Light Therapy Mask from Walmart, it cost $29.99.
In the box you have the light therapy mask that has built in uv ray protection glasses and an activator that has 30 daily treatment sessions. That means that if you want to continue using the light therapy mask after the 30 daily treatment sessions are up you will need to purchase a new activator which will come with 30 daily treatment sessions.
If you have light to moderate acne Neutrogena says the light therapy mask will help to reduce and hopefully clear your acne but if you have severe acne the light therapy mask is not for you. I have light to moderate acne and I can say from using the light therapy mask for a few weeks now that it really does work. I’ve noticed that pimples literally get smaller in size after one session and the redness of the pimple diminishes as well.
Neutrogena does suggest to still continue to follow your normal acne treatment regimen even while using the light therapy mask. I have been doing that and I have seen great results. As long as the Neutrogena Light Therapy Mask and activator is on the market I will continue to use it. If you have used this product before let me know in the comments below how it worked for you. Did it clear your acne?
